Friends of Castlewood Canyon State Park hosts various events throughout the year to engage and entertain our community as well as raise funds for the betterment of the Canyon. We also assist in the planning and organization of many well-attended Park sponsored events.

Castlewood Dam Ruins

Dam Day
 August  3, 2024, 10 am - 3 pm

Dam Day is a great way to learn about the 1933 Dam failure and enjoy a Dam good lunch (startng at 11:30).  History, kids games, food, hikes, nature - what could be better.   Here's some fun info:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjDtKaTGxng

Vulture conservation and awareness is important to Castlewood Canyon. This is a fun, education day.   Hope you  can join us.   You'll see a Turkey Vulture up close and more!

On Jan.1, Castlewood Canyon State Park  invites you to celebrate the new year.

First Day Hikes offer a chance to start the new year off on the right foot by exercising in nature. Guided hikes, short or long.  And then we serve soup,  Always have a great time, no matter what the weather.

Haunted Trails

 Castlewood will get a little spooky in anticipation of Halloween! Bring the kids.   Bring your friends.  Wear a costume.   Have some scary fun!
